Ecological Benefits: Drought-tolerant, attracts beneficial insects such as ladybug beetles

Bloom period: mid-fall

Best Areas for Planting: low to medium moisture, full sun; soils that are sandy, loamy, clayey, and rocky

Natural Habitat: can be found in pine openings, prairies, and exposed ledges
